Derek Lujan is a HUD-certified Housing Counselor at United South Broadway Corporation (USBC), where he works closely with individuals and families to navigate housing challenges and build long-term stability. He is known for his calm, compassionate approach and his ability to help clients make informed decisions during difficult moments.
Derek brings a strong background in community development and outreach, shaped by his work with the New Mexico Black Leadership Council. There, he provided housing and resource counseling, led outreach efforts, and built partnerships across agencies and neighborhoods to expand access to critical services.
His work is grounded in a deep commitment to equity, accountability, and meeting people where they are. Derek believes in creating space for individuals to feel heard, supported, and empowered as they move toward greater housing security and financial wellbeing.
