Albuquerque native Hannaiyah Pickett received a B.A. from the University of New Mexico with a double major in Psychology and Africana studies, as well as a certificate in race and social justice.  While at UNM she was a student mentor and administrative assistant at the Office of African American Student Services.  She has taught young people at the African American Performing Arts Center and worked as an administrator for Liberty Mutual Insurance and Molly Maids.  At USBC she appreciates helping people keep their homes amidst the challenges of an affordable housing crisis.  She notes that in this environment, many young adults struggle to attain and retain their homes.  Hannaiyah enjoys crochet and visual arts and is an aspiring natural hair artist.
